This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

SweetLove Merriment - Penelope Dee Christmas Royale

Hello Everyone

I hope that the week starts well and that you have a super one.

I was really bust last week preparing for our National Scrapbook Day here in SA that was this past Saturday! It was a huge success and such a fabulous day! ;-)

I had previously finished this mixed media page for Penelope Dee, using the gorgeous Christmas Royale collection.

This page is of my sweet girl Sally, that was our little Christmas reindeer. LOL
Just look at that sweet...but oh so sad face, cause my Mommy put these horrible things on my head!!!! ;-) I just had to scrap her! ;-)

I used a fabulous Sizzix die-cut on this page..

I only used the swirl part.  These added so many layers and texture to this page, along with the gorgeous chippies.

I kept to the red and blue colour combination for a Nordic look! ;-)

I still have a lot of photo's to scrap from last year, so I really must get my butt into gear! ;-)

I hope you have a gorgeous Monday!
Cheers for now

Art Journal Page - A Bird does not sing because he has an answer, he sings because he has a song

Hello Everyone

Welcome to Saturday and the weekend and welcome back to my blog! ;-)

Today I have an art journal page to share, that I created a while back and just love the vibrant colours of.

I used some Basic Grey goodies that I have had in my stash for years, along with acrylic paints, distress paints and inks.

The sentiment was also a rub-on that I have had for years and was so pleased that it still worked a charm.

I also used some Tim Holtz stamps, which are some of my favourite.

The colour combo surprised even myself and I was so happy with the way it turned out.

If you haven't tried art journalling, it really does give you the freedom to really play and experiment.

Well I hope you get some time to create and play over the weekend.
I hope to find some time too!

Have a great one!

Art Journal Page - The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate!

Hello Everyone

Today I have an art journal page or pages...should I say, to share with you.

I had some time this past weekend and I happened to start watching Marta's 30 Products Journal Collage using Mixed Media Techniques and I actually loved the look of the page and so decided to craft along. It wasn't over one sitting, but was probably over two days...and this is what I created!
Thanks so much Marta for the lovely inspiration!

Here is what I created.

I loved the result and I loved the sentiment too! ;-)

It was soooo good to use up some scrap stash and even some BoBunny packaging! ;-)

I used acrylic paints, distress inks and all purpose inks.  It really was so much fun.

Here are a few close-ups.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous Friday!
Have a great weekend too!

Just Because - Mixed Media Tag - Copic Markers and Distress Oxides

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a mixed media tag with you.

I happened to see some Copic Markers on sale in October and had never tried them, so I ordered them on-line. Sadly the supplier over-sold on-line and so they did not have on hand anymore.  But they ordered more for me and I waited 7 weeks for them to arrive! LOL
I had to be very patient! ;-)

I watched quite a few YouTube videos and then gave it a shot to colour some hydrangeas for this mixed media tag.
Here is the result.

I used distress oxides for the background and then stamped and coloured the flowers, which I later fussy cut.

Here is a closer look at the flowers and my Copic work.

I think I can certainly practice some more, but I do love how it turned out.

I wasn't sure if Copic was really for me...but I have decided that they definitely are and the way they blend is just amazing! That was the deal breaker for me! ;-)
So I will probably be adding to my very small collection, in the near future! ;-)

I don't think anyone ever said, "I have enough craft goodies"!!!!! ;-)

Thanks again for stopping by!
Have a fabulous, fabulous day!

Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone

I promise, these are the last 2 Christmas cards that I will be sharing for a while! ;-)
LOL... but yes...I have already said to myself again, that you need to make at least 1 or 2 a month, so that by the time Christmas rolls around again, I have them on hand! ;-)
This seems to work very well for me! ;-)

Anyways..here they are.

I really used so many things from my stash, some old rub-ons and the papers etc.
It really was good to de-stash.

Again also, the little red flowers are handmade! I really love them.
Here's a closer look below.

The flowers and the twig die-cut are from a fabulous set from Sizzix, called Small Tattered Florals.
This is one of the best sets that I have bought for a long time and it has been used over and over and is just fabulous! ;-)

Here is the second card, using lots of BoBunny goodness.

I mixed and matched new and old goodies and this was the result! ;-)

Well those are my Christmas cards done and dusted!

Thanks once again...for always popping by!
I really appreciate it so much!
Have a fabulous day!

Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone

I still have some Christmas Cards to share and I hope that you won't get bored of them, now that Christmas is past and the New year has begun, with a bang! ;-)

Here is the first one.

I used some ScrapBerry papers, along with die-cuts and coloured, fussy cut stamped items.

The centre circle was created by using the resist technique with acrylic paint and distress inks.

I really loved the colours of this card and this was definitely one of my favourites.

Here is the second card.

I really loved this craft card too and the little red flowers are handmade. Here's a closer look below.

I love how the colours pop against this kraft background. I really think I must use kraft more often.

Thanks so much for popping by my blog today!
I always so appreciate your visits and comments!

Have a fabulous day!

Hello Everyone

I hope that 2018 is treating you well.
It has been a busy start to the year for me! But I managed to find some time to create this weekend, so my heart is singing! ;-)
I have also been doing quite a bit of publication work in the background and will share this with you in the next few months.

I have a pair of Prima Christmas tags to share with you, that I made this past Christmas.

Here is the first one...

I recycled some Prima packaging also, which is the base of this tag.

I love that delicate die-cut too! ;-)

Here's the second tag...

I did stamping, colouring and fussy cutting on this one!

On these 2 tags I also used Polkadoodles stamps, which I absolutely adore.

I still have some more Christmas projects to share...so hope you went get bored with them!

Wishing you a fabulous Sunday!
Cheers for now!

Happy New Year - Penelope Dee Christmas Royale

Hello Everyone

I hope that you had a fabulous Christmas and wishing you everything of the best for 2018! ;-)
I wish you health, wealth, love, joy, happiness and inspiration! ;-)

I had a wonderful time with my family, some here and some in Limpopo.
It was really lovely and the best way to spend Christmas, surrounded by family.

I will share some of the photo's with you, but for now, let me share some Christmas Tags that I wasn't able to share yet. I used the gorgeous Penelope Dee Christmas Royale Collection.

I created 4 different tags.

I so love that pine leaf die-cut and the poinsettia one also! ;-)

Here are the other 3 tags...

Such a very pretty collection! ;-)

As I said previously...I will also share some of the photo's from our Limpopo visit to Redhill Farm.
It was blissful.

This is certainly one of the beautiful positives of Africa! ;-)
There is nothing like the African bush! ;-)

Have a fabulous day and fabulous 2018!
